I don’t know whether the store can possibly live up to it, but the new campaign for The Dress Barn makes me want to check the place out. And that’s no small deal. Who would ever want to shop in a place called Dress Barn? I’ve thought for years. Visions of shapeless faded dresses, aprons and old boots inhabited the name itself. But this campaign, created by Dress Barn’s own CMO, Lori Wagner, is a brilliant piece of stand-up-and-look-again marketing. Photographer Patrick Demarchelier, stylist, Anne Christensen, late of Glamour, more recently available through Art and Commerce, led a world-class team to produce no less than world-class results. Everyone here at MEIER applauds! We wish we’d done it. But it proves, once more, that standards – from top-drawer Creatives – really can make all the difference. Even in changing your mind about a store called, Dress Barn!
Dress Barn’s new look is anything but Old MacDonald.
